The Flatlanders Jeep Club
Manhattan, KS

(Bob crossing stream)

The Flatlanders Jeep Club meets the second Sunday of every month (with some exceptions) at the Briggs Jeep/Eagle dealership in Manhattan, KS (150 miles from my home). Each club meeting is followed by a few hours of trail riding at a nearby off-road vehicle area. The ORV area is, to the best of our knowledge, the only public ORV area in Kansas or Nebraska. It's a 360-acre plot with widely-varying terrain that's maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers.

The group is comprised of several dozen of the friendliest Jeepers you've ever seen. Some (like me) drive several hours to get to the meetings. Vehicles range from a stock '97 TJ to a mildly-built Willys flat-fender to a decked-out '87 YJ with 44" Swampers. Jim and Faye Arp head up the group. Club dues are $30/year for Kansas residents and $15/year for out-of-staters. Anyone is welcome to attend; the only requirement is that you own a Jeep. For more info, contact:
